Usually, it is also best to avoid any ventures in industries that are outside of your expertise. Don’t jump in with both feet just because you’ve heard that a certain field will be very lucrative in the near future. Such predictions are often inaccurate and jumping on a bandwagon certainly is not a prudent way to prepare for the rest of your financial life. Find out more about the industry and decide for yourself if pet grooming, senior care or whatever job you are interested in is really the right career path for you.
Plan income strategy. For most people, they start with salaries. But don’t forget that your job isn’t your only means of income. Starting a side business, a money making hobby, or even making money online are viable options for extra income.
What I will do is not to send traffic to a sales page, but to an opt-in page (like the one in resource box). The reason is because I want to build a subscribers list. If I build a list, I can leverage the traffic my site gets and turn that traffic into repeat traffic. Which means I can turn 100 visitors into 300 or even 500 repeat visits, all because of the email marketing system I have.
If that’s your plan then you might as well whip out the phone book and start dialing. And let’s see how many No’s, not interested’s and don’t call me again’s you get before you finish the page. It’s simply because “strangers” is not the target market you should be going after to build a successful home business.
Lets say you start a project, you are all excited about obtaining the end result, you are doing what you know to be the strategic steps to make the project a success. You are going along taking action however you are seeing no evidence of results. You keep going and still see no evidence of results, is that where you get offended/huffy and quit?
Consider the experience you do have, whether it’s work or life related. Chances are you know how to do SOMETHING, even if you haven’t done it in a job capacity. See if you can find jobs that would use the knowledge you have, or at least touch on them in some way.
You have to be rational enough to assess your current situation, creative enough to see what is possible, and have the integrity to follow through with the plan. Remember, just because it’s on paper doesn’t mean it will happen – you have to decide to follow through and live up to your goals.
